Taking the PADI Freediver course is your first step toward discovering why freediving is becoming a popular way to explore beneath the waves.To enroll in a PADI Freediver course you must be at least 15 years old. You need adequate swimming skills and need to be in good physical health. No prior experience with snorkeling, skin diving or freediving is required. The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:1. Knowledge development about freediving principles through independent study with PADI Freediver eLearning (or your instructor may conduct class sessions if not available in a language you understand).2. Confined water session to learn breathhold techniques as well as static and dynamic apnea. Goal: static apnea of 90 seconds and dynamic apnea of 25 metres/80 feet.3. Open water sessions to practice free immersion and constant weight freedives, plus proper buddy procedures. Goal: constant weight freedive of 10 metres/30 feet. Haven't been diving lately and want a quick scuba refresher? The PADI ReActivate™ program is the perfect way to update your dive knowledge and review basic scuba skills. Whether you just need a few reminders or want a more comprehensive review, this program provides an engaging, prescriptive refresher of scuba principles and procedures.The program has two components: 1) a knowledge review that includes interacting with ReActivate eLearning and 2) a dive skills refresher you complete with a PADI Professional. After successfully completing both components, a PADI Diver receives a replacement certification card showing a “ReActivated Thru” date. Divers initially certified through other training organizations (with proof of at least an entry-level certification) receive ReActivate Recognition Cards. ReActivate eLearning has 20 main sections with scenarios that help you recall and apply what you know and want to refresh in an integrated manner. You'll answer several questions and either move on to the next section, or review additional background information for more detail. It's intuitive and interesting.   Examples of section topics include: dive preparation boat diving dive computers aquatic life handling problems diving health and fitness To complete your knowledge refresher, you'll be prompted to complete the ReActivate Quick Review. If you’ve done the Open Water course you will already have realized that scuba diving can be a whole lot more involved than just spending time underwater. Perhaps you’ve already seen others taking photos of the marine life and of each other. Or perhaps you’d like to experience the thrill of a night dive? Well you can! The PADI Adventures in Diving program lets you do all of these fun things whilst working towards your next level of diver certification. Consult with your diving instructor and choose from a variety of Adventure Dives offered through our dive centers. Once you have completed at least 3 Adventure Dives from the Adventures in Diving program you will be eligible to be certified as an Adventure Diver.   Adventure dives that you can participate in include: Night Diving Deep Diving Wreck Diving Underwater Digital Photography Peak Performance Buoyancy Drift Diving Underwater Naturalist Underwater Navigation If you are already open Water Certified then you can earn the Adventure Diver rating in as little as 1 day although you might like to spread it over 2 days. Course outline – First off you’ll receive an Adventures in Diving participant manual and then discuss with your diving instructor which three Adventure Dives you would like to participate in. For each elected dive there is a corresponding section in the participant manual that you’ll read and some knowledge review questions that you need to answer. Your instructor will review these answers with you as well as brief you on each dive before you go underwater. Then you’re diving again! Each time with a different objective but overall to help you broaden your understanding of the aquatic world and sharpen your diving skills.
